Saved from finanical difficulties in recent times by Renault, Nissan has gone from strength to strength in niche areas such as the 350Z but still can't get the mainstream products right for the UK market.

An excellent used buy though as they are very reliable and robust.

The Nissan Micra has some neart practical touches and the looks still look modern.

What to look for
If you don't have enough money for the latest generation of Micra then there are plenty of the old jelly-mould shape around although they may be a little tired now. Stay away from ex-driving school cars. Remember what you did to your instructor's car?!

Used prices
There's always a market for a Micra so they hold onto their value fairly well. Plus, with Nissan offering lots of money-off deals on new cars, you have to look at examples a couple of years old before it's really worth buying a used one.
